It was a disgrace nobody believed how much pain I was in and still am. I was put on drips sitting in chair as no beds. They discharged they wanted the bed I was forced out. Went home for n exact same pain. I should have been admitted for urgent endoscopy
After 6 1/2 hours waiting at king George’s I was told to come to queens and I would be seen straight away after waiting at queens another 7 hours I was given a armchair to sit on. After another 12 hours I got a bed to lay in. After being starved of food and drink for 24 hours I was given food. Next day I had surgery and my experience was much better
despite arriving with a letter from my gp, l was made to queue for 5.5 hours before anyone read it, and sent me to a different section. The inital person who assessed me said "she hadn't got time to open the letter!"
When l got to a&e surgical, who had been expecting me (my gp had telephoned them) it was 23.30 and l was told that there would a minimum of a 4 hour wait, at which point l went home to take over from my wife's carer. l was assured that if l came back morning l would be seen straight away. When l turned up at 08.00 l was told that l had been discharged.
I was eventually seen an hour later and discharged in the afternoon
The doctors/ nurses/ all staff treated me very quickly as I was experiencing chest pains. 2 ECG tests, blood tests and an X-ray were all carried out to rule out any seriousness and I was sent away with the correct medication and advice from the doctor on call.
I was also offered food/ drink while I was awaiting in ‘Majors B’ this was a bonus as I had not eaten all day.
Most of the staff were caring but the nurse during the night doing my obs was rough and spoke rudely to people. She pulled my arm hard and even left a bruise when doing my blood pressure. I could hear her speak rudely to an older lady in the next room too. Not a caring individual at all.
The consultants and nurse are friendly and pay attention to details
I was told to go to urgent care by 111 by midnight. I was not assessed until 1:20am and then saw a doctor at 07:20. To me this is not acceptable. There was one doctor working for the whole clinic. Once I was seen I did get a good service but 7 hours to see a doctor was too much.
I received a caring, courteous, compassionate service by Pippa Middleton, a nurse on A and E. I found Pippa always very busy, and concerned for the patients in the Accident and Emergency waiting room.
Pippa always checked that patients were being assisted, even If It meant Pippa going out of her way, despite the pressures on their time, and their own needs like going to the toilet.
Terrible no outcome
I waited in a&e for 12 hours and still didn’t get to see a doctor. I ended up discharging myself because it was taking so long and I was so tired. I had to keep asking for updates and they were not accurate.
